Enhanced Runoff Detention In Green Roofs Or Stormwater Planters
Supervisor: Dr Virginia Stovin
The benefits of using SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) for urban stormwater management include both retention and detention of rainfall-runoff. This project will focus on the potential to enhance detention within either green roof or stormwater planter systems, through modified outlet arrangements and/or modifications to the substrate/growing media. Laboratory tests will be undertaken to evaluate a range of alternative options and to derive suitable hydraulic models for them.
This project is NOT FUNDED, although Departmental/University scholarships are available for applicants who can demonstrate strong evidence of research potential.
